Today Dr. Asif Mahmood, candidate for California Insurance Commissioner, earned the support of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union’s Northern California District Council.
“Dr. Asif Mahmood is a genuine candidate whose passion for helping others and endless drive will be a force to reckon with in Sacramento,” said Melvin Mackay, ILWU Northern California District Council President, “Dr. Mahmood genuinely cares about California’s workers and their access to affordable, accessible and quality healthcare. We are in need of a fighter in Sacramento that will work with and for Californians in order to protect us from insurance companies’ predatory behaviors. His plans to work with the legislature on healthcare will help to close the gap on Californians without access to care. The International Longshore and Warehouse Union is excited to announce our endorsement of Dr. Mahmood, and look forward to voting for him on June 5th.”
